You have probably all heard the news: Amazon enters the game of API Management by offering an API Gateway as part of their AWS offering.

This may seem as a threat to current API Management providers and it will be for some, but in general it is good news for the market. It shows that API Management is important and an API Gateway on AWS helps to make the idea accessing digital assets via Web APIs more mainstream. Also, in order to stay competitive it will put some pressure on cloud service providers to offer a similar sort of capability, which they can achieve by either building in house or partnering up with existing API Management players.
